Kalalau Trail Hike
A stunning coastal route that offers a mesmerizing hiking experience on the Napali Coast. Venture two miles in to reach the beach, where you can either turn back or extend your journey by an additional 1.5 miles inland to marvel at the Hanakapiai Waterfall, perfect for a refreshing swim. The trail features varying terrain with moderate inclines, caution is advised, especially during wet conditions. Hiking beyond the beach is not recommended for young children as there are river crossings and increasing difficult and exposed sections. Avoid hiking in rainy weather as the trail becomes slick and river crossings pose dangers. For the adventurous souls, consider backpacking the full seven miles into the valley for a camping experience. Note that a pass from Haena State Parks and scheduling a shuttle from Hanalei are mandatory. Plan ahead as car permits are limited and shuttle spots are restricted.

Various tour options are available, from zodiacs to sailboats with snorkeling, and even sunset cruises. Our favorite is Captain Andy's for an exceptional adventure.
